Jeffrey Blondes

In February 2026 I had the honor and pleasure of creating a film near Houston, at The John Fairey Garden in Hempstead, Texas during a 2-week guest residency. I was invited by Randy Twaddle, garden director and artist-in-residence, to see what I might capture of founder John Fairey's vision. Fairey, himself an artist, placed great importance on the graphic dimension of the plants he collected. Rather than document them in various light and weather conditions, I chose to focus on their shadows and silhouettes, projected against myriad surfaces and sky. Working title: 'What the Sun Never Sees’.
